Steam Broadcasting, Nigeria, upgrade to Autoplus 3.7

A team from Westcountry Broadcast have just completed a project for Steam Broadcasting in Nigeria. Our long term customers have upgraded their on air facilities for both stations by replacing their analogue consoles with the all digital Wheatstone Evolution AoIP system. The Westcountry Broadcast team completely rewired both on air and production studios, built a new racks or apparatus room and installed and configured the Wheatstone system and Cisco switches as well as training the station staff in operation and support.  The stations use Autoplus playout and automation software and this has been integrated with the Wheatstone AoIP driver to provide soundcard-less interfacing with the system: Autoplus systems appearing as blades on the network.

Also integrated at the same time were ALPS1 audio levellers and RDS-PRO 2 IP RDS encoders from Audessence which are working alongside the new Autoplus RDS application which automatically populates Radiotext in the encoders from Autoplus via XML and IP. The final image upgrade was provided by the installation of Sonifex SignalLED mic live lights.

Cool FM and Wazobia FM in Abuja have also now upgraded to the latest version of Autoplus 3.7 playout and automation software.

BBC Local Radio upgrades to Autoplus 3.7

BBC Radio Devon have just upgraded their Autoplus installation to version 3.7. This has brought them a host of new features including some dedicated to BBC use including streamlined Radioman database imports. The team pronounced themselves "..delighted.." with the first use of 3.7 at BBC South West's studios at the Devon County Show in May. The images below show Autoplus in action with the BBC at the show. If you would like details of the BBC specific facilities within Autoplus, please contact us. Pictures courtesy of BBC Radio Devon.
